During the last match of Nights against the Leafs, Kessel was playing his 989th consecutive game and tied the mark for the ironman record

Since October 31, 2009; Kessel has not missed any single game. Till now he has played 13 seasons

Observing his entire career, he has played more than 97 percent of the games in a 17 year time span and have only missed 36 games
