The NHL has announced the suspension of Washington Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov for one game for sticking Vancouver Canucks defenseman Kyle Burroughs
Mr. Kuznetsov hit Burroughs in the face with his stick in a Monday night match between the Capitals and the Canucks. This gave the Canucks a minor penalty which resulted into a score.
The League said that this incident where Kuznetsov swinged the stick towards his opponent was intentional.
Kuznetsov is a native of Russia and according to the suspension he will not play the Thursday match at Ottawa but will return for the Saturday match.
The Washington Capitals have already lost Connor Brown to a lower body injury and now Kuznetsov will also be out of game though only for 1 match.
Watching the past record of Kuznetsov, he was fined 2000 dollars for diving in 2017, was suspended for 3 games in 2019 and fined 5 thousand grand in the last season.
