The Ottawa Senators sign Derick Brassard for 1 year deal

Derick Brassard has signed a 1 year deal with the Ottawa Senators for an amount of $750,000. Before this he played two seasons with the Senators, this was after his acquisition in a trade for the New York Rangers.

On Monday Derrick Brassard quoted, “I’m excited to be back here and have a chance to play with those guys”

He was getting tested by the team and was playing in the training camp on a professional tryout contract where he had one goal and two assists.

He succeeded to have a power play goal and 1 assist against the Montreal Canadiens.

Fans will see the Senators begin their season on Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres.

The veteran Brassard is 35 year old.

The list of players on PTO’s signing NHL contract is growing. Yesterday we heard the news of Zach Aston-Reese and Jimmy Vesey signing the contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers respectively.
