Rangers defeat Lightning in NHL opening Night

The New York Rangers played their opening season match with Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday where the scoreboard came to be 3-1.

Both the teams were favourite of the fans in the Eastern Conference, here the Rangers were defeated by the Lightning.

Center Mika Zibanejad made 2 goals and later Zibanejad made 1 goal putting New York ahead 2-1. Zibanejad(29 year old) made a power play goal.

For Zibanejad the first period of the match went scoreless after which he received a long pass from teammate Jacob Trouba and made a top shelf shorthand goal past Andrie Vasilevskiy. 

Later The Lightning got some penalties from defensemen Kā€™Andre Miller and forward Barclay Goodrow.

Though the Lightning ended up losing the opening match, there were some positives for the team like veteran forward Brayden Point made an assist and appeared to be healthy after his past injury of torn right quad muscle.
