$50 million dollars is a big amount for ordinary people but The Calgary Flames have agreed on that amount for a 8-year contract extension with MacKenzie Weegar(defenceman).
This news was announced on Friday(October 7).
In the July 25 trade Weegar was about to be traded with the Panthers but finally stayed with The Flames. If this was not done he would have become a free agent in the upcoming year 2023.
Now that Weegar is with the Flames he has a lot of hard work to do. He quoted that he believed highly in the Flames team and that is why he wanted to be here. He like the team, coach and the winning culture here.
In the last NHL season, Weegar made 8 goals and 36 assists in 80 games. He is a young player aged 26 who grew up in Ottawa. From start of his career his friends, family, coach and team have always supported him.
